I really loved this book. I bought one as a gift for our four year old great grandsons, to help teach them about puppy mills. They love dogs and cats and have had failed foster cats in their home. Rusty was a real dog with his life portrayed in this book. A good read for adults and children that I understand so well, as I am a Fur Mom of a puppy mill dog.Product details

This is a wonderful and cute book with a great story about Rusty. It is great for fun reading for young children and also teaching about dog rescues and puppy mills. I highly recommend this book ! The profits all go toward supporting animal rescue so it's a great cause !
I love this book! My daughters age 10 and 6 couldn't wait to read it. They have never read a book that quick. I didn't even get the box in the trash before they were sitting together reading it. They were so excited to take it to school and show their friends. They love fact that "Rusty" is the one telling the story and that it is a true story, easy reading, with really cute pictures! We can't wait for more books like "Rusty"
Great book for child to learn more about adoption, empathy and caretaker responsibility. We got this as a gift for our grandson even though his family pet is a cat. They are considering adding a dog soon.
This is a beautiful true story of a young dog that was rescued and finally found the family he needed and deserved. It is written for young children and has beautiful illustrations to go with the story. I highly recommend this book as a great way to introduce children to the idea of adopting rescued animals instead of buying them, and the joys that adoption can bring to a person's life.
